For those interested in creating a small wildflower patch through to people who want to create a small meadow, spend a half day at Common Farm Flowers in Somerset, where their 3/4 acre wildflower meadow has been created with loving care and attention over the past thirteen years.

See the meadow in full flower, look at the species which flourish there, work out how you too can take the lessons that Fabrizio Boccha and Georgie Newbery have learned during the creation of this wonderful space, and create your own small meadow.

Whether you want to turn a narrow strip of land into a haven for birds and butterflies, or have an actual small meadow you want to return to a flowery state, Georgie and Fabrizio will advise and encourage you.

During the course of the workshop you will:

  • Tour the meadows at Common Farm Flowers
  • Learn about the different environments of the meadows at Common Farm
  • Learn about how the earth is managed to encourage perennial wild flower species to flourish there

We have lost 97% of our wildflower meadows in the UK since WWII. Be part of the movement to reestablish our native wildflower species, a beautiful way to feed some of the most vulnerable species on the food chain.

This is a half day workshop (10am - 1pm) and there will be a maximum of 10 people attending each session.

Please wear clothes suitable for the weather (layers, waterproof clothes) and bring shoes / boots that are designed to walk on rough grassy paths. Even on a sunny day, flip flops and sandals aren't advised and we suggest long trousers where possible, due to the risk of ticks. A sun hat and sun protection are also advised, as we can't always stand in the shade.

Please bring your own drinks and snacks along to the workshop if needed.

Please note:

We will be in touch a few days before the workshop with your joining instructions. If you’ve not received this email 48 hours beforehand please email nicola@commonfarmflowers.com but do please first check your junk / spam items and make sure you are checking the inbox of the email address you used to book your place.
