Product Details

Join Georgie for three days of fun and learning about creating with flowers cut fresh from the garden.  Using exclusively eco skills this no-floral foam course will take you through the details of cutting, conditioning, and arranging, from tiny posies to large floral installations.

Day 1 – Spend the morning in the garden cutting flowers for the course.  Learn the best way to cut and condition, and how to plan your garden so that you can have great material for cutting throughout the season. Spend the afternoon making posies, buttonholes, a larger bouquet, a flower crown…

Day 2 – A quicker spin round the garden cutting for this day’s creations will be followed by a team creation of a table scape using Constance Spry style vases, smaller posies, confetti, candles…

Day 3 – Let’s finish off the course with making some larger installations, a floral arch, huge urns, garlanding the poles of the shade sail the course has been taught under.

This is a three day event which will suit people just wanting to have fun with flowers as well as people with more experience who want to hone their eco-floristry, and styling skills.  There will be plenty of opportunity to photograph the work as we create it, and Georgie has a wealth of props and vases in her studio, all of which can be used opportunistically.

For people looking to release their inner florist, to polish their inner florist, to learn more about eco floristry, or who just fancy three days away from the rest of the world, absorbing the peace of working with flowers.

Limited spaces available - there will be a maximum of 10 people on the workshop.

The cost includes lunch each day at the local farm shop so please advise us of any food allergies / intolerances at the time of booking. Please bring your own drinks (water / hot drinks flasks etc) and any mid morning / afternoon snacks you might like.

The cost of the workshop includes all materials you will need to use on the day. All creations not made in vessels belonging to Common Farm can be taken home by the students at the end of each day.

The workshop takes place between 10am-3pm each day (approximate end time) at Common Farm, BA9 8HN.

Please note that workshops at Common Farm Flowers are taking place outside, under cover of our sail and out on the farm (where there is no cover!) Please wear clothes suitable for the weather (layers, waterproof clothes) and bring shoes / boots that are designed to walk on rough grassy paths.

Nearby Bruton and Wincanton are full of lovely places to stay to suit every budget if you wanted to stay nearby – see our links page for good ideas

What can you expect when you order our flowers?

Most of our flowers and foliage are grown on our flower farm in Somerset. During some of the winter months we order flowers from our flower farming friends in other parts of the country. We only ever use British grown flowers. Our flowers are cut from the farm fresh each morning, before being arranged and sent for next day delivery.

Because our flowers are picked fresh each day, each of our bouquets is totally unique. Although we can't guarantee a particular flower or colour scheme in your bouquet please let us know if you have any particular requests and we will do our best to meet them. We promise that your bouquet will be fresh and beautiful.
