Growing Sweet Peas

Please note - dates for this workshop have been postponed due to coronavirus.

Spend a morning at Common Farm learning all about growing, cutting and creating beautiful posies with sweet peas.

We grow three crops of ninety sweet pea plants at a time at Common Farm Flowers, in order to have sweet peas in flower for our customers from the end of April until the autumn. Sometimes people struggle to grow sweet peas and to keep them flowering for a good long time.

Come and spend an inspiring morning with flower farmer Georgie learning about different varieties, germination tips, how to pinch out and plant, and how to feed your sweet peas so that your crop is the envy of the neighbourhood.

It’ll be a fun morning, and you’ll take home a big fat posy of sweet peas as well as masses of new information. And as for why you should never pull them out of the ground…come and find out more!

The workshop takes place from 10-1pm and the cost includes coffee and cake! All our workshops include delicious refreshments so please advise us of any food allergies and intolerances at the time of booking.

There are just 10 places at the workshop so book soon!

What can you expect when you order our flowers?
Most of our flowers and foliage are grown on our flower farm in Somerset. During some of the winter months we order flowers from our flower farming friends in other parts of the country. We only ever use British grown flowers. Our flowers are cut from the farm fresh each morning, before being arranged and sent for next day delivery.
Because our flowers are picked fresh each day, each of our bouquets is totally unique. Although we can't guarantee a particular flower or colour scheme in your bouquet please let us know if you have any particular requests and we will do our best to meet them. We promise that your bouquet will be fresh and beautiful.
