Have you ever wanted to know more about the wild bees and pollinators in your flower garden? Well, now’s your chance. Join Bee champion, author and award winning writer, Jean Vernon for a bees and pollinator walk around the gardens of Common Farm Flowers.

Common Farm Flowers will be donating your payment to attend this event to local charity, as part of our 'Common Good Plant Sale' initiative.

Jean will introduce you to some of our fabulous bumblebees and solitary bees and will help you to understand how to garden to support all of our bees and other essential pollinators.

During the walk she will gently catch some of the pollinators feeding on the flowers in magnifying pots so that you can see the beauty of real bumblebees and other pollinators close up. She will highlight some of the power plants you can grow in your gardens to support our precious pollinators and share lots of fascinating insights into the lives of these amazing creatures.

Jean Vernon (aka Jeanie Bee) is an award winning writer and best-selling author of The Secret Lives of Garden Bees and her new book Attracting Garden Pollinators. She is on a mission to unravel, demystify and explain the intricate balance of nature and to introduce everyone to the familiar and unfamiliar bees and other pollinators that live in our gardens.

Places on this walk are limited to 15 people only. The event will start at 10.30am with an introduction in the Common Farm Flowers studio and this will then be followed by the walk, which will last around 60 minutes but may take a little longer. There will also be an opportunity to buy Jean's books on the day. Please allow 2 hours for the whole event.

Please note:

There is little cover or shelter when out on the farm. Please wear clothes suitable for the weather (layers, waterproof clothes and we highly recommend long trousers and long sleeves, due to the risk of ticks and stinging plants and insects.) Bring shoes / boots that are designed to walk on rough grassy paths.  Even on a sunny day, flip flops and sandals aren't advised. A sun hat and sun protection are also advised, as we can't always stand in the shade.

We will be in touch a few days before the event with your joining instructions. If you’ve not received this email 48 hours beforehand please email nicola@commonfarmflowers.com but do please first check your junk / spam items and make sure you are checking the inbox of the email address you used to book your place.
