When we moved to Common Farm between Bruton and Wincanton in Somerset nineteen years ago the fields here were sown with thick rye grass for feeding cattle, and other than the occasional rare sight of a single stem of ox eye daisy, or a little campion in the hedge, we had no wild flowers.
