You’ve found us! Welcome to Common Farm Flowers.
Georgie Newbery grows flowers on a seven-acre farm in Somerset and has been teaching people to grow and arrange them sustainably since 2010. An RHS Floristry Judge, RHS gold medal winner, and Joint External Chair of Flowers from the Farm, she shares everything she knows. This is where to find information on her club, workshops, her community, her writing, and the flowers themselves.
If you've just found us and aren't sure where to begin, here's a quick map.
If you came from Substack, or want to start there
You're already in the right place. Georgie's free Substack posts cover flower farming, floristry, running a small creative business, and the kind of thinking that goes with all of it. It's free and you can read at your own pace.
If you want more, including live weekly sessions in term time, members only content, a discount on everything on the website, that's what you get with the Club. It costs £75 a year or £10 a month to join.

If you watched a YouTube video and want to learn more
The best next step is an online demo. Demos take place live via Zoom and the recordings are made available for a period other than time afterwards, so you can catch up in your own time if that suits you afterwards. Which one will you choose? Demos cost £45, with some available in discounted packages.
If you want to grow flowers - for your pleasure, or to sell
There's a workshop for you here whether you're starting a cut flower patch or seriously thinking about growing flowers for a living. Georgie has been growing commercially for fifteen years and teaches everything she knows.
If you want to come to the farm
Common Farm Flowers is between Bruton and Wincanton in Somerset, about two hours from London. We schedule workshops, retreats and garden tours at the farm throughout the year: Eco Floristry, Flower Farming Intensive, and the Lifestyle Business Retreat. Numbers are small and they sell out.
If you'd like one-to-one business mentoring
Georgie offers 1-1 mentoring sessions for flower farmers, florists, and people building small creative businesses. Sessions are three hours with a follow up review some months later. Each session is built individually around your questions: from pricing and business planning to marketing and growing. A limited number of sessions are available each year.
If you're planning a wedding, a celebration, or a funeral
Georgie grows flowers for weddings between April and October: seasonal, sustainable, all British grown flowers. Most couples collect from the farm and arrange the flowers themselves. There are also workshops specifically for DIY wedding flowers.
For funerals, locally grown seasonal flowers can be a quiet and meaningful choice. Get in touch to talk through what's possible.
