Coming up in June
June is fast approaching and we’ve a packed schedule of opportunities to learn with Georgie coming up. There’s lots to choose from, including individual online demos and packages that we’ve put together to form a brilliant sustainable floristry course (book all the sessions or pick the ones you need / want to do individually) and (at the time of writing) there are just 2 places left on our eco floristry retreat. Alongside these sustainably floristry sessions, we’ve 3 other online demos and 4 live chats here on Substack for paid subscribers. And Georgie thought her May diary was busy! Lots to come in June!
Sustainable floristry demos online
We’ve 6 sustainable floristry demos planned for June. These take place over 2 days and you can pick and mix which you’d like to do! All these sessions are recorded so if you can’t attend live it’s still possible to take part - simply book in the usual way and we will send out recordings as soon as possible after the demos have taken place.
Tuesday 2nd June
(The above 3 demos can be booked as a discounted package here if you’d like to do all of them).
Wednesday 3rd June
(The above 3 demos can be booked as a discounted package here if you’d like to do all of them).
Eco Floristry Retreat at the farm
There’s still time to book a place on 1, 2 or all 3 days of our eco floristry retreat, which takes place at the farm in Somerset in June. Places are now VERY limited though so please book soon if you want to join us. This retreat is always GLORIOUS.
The retreat takes place on Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th June and we start each day at 9.30am with coffee. Each day involves cutting and conditioning flowers from the farm in the morning, before we spend the afternoon arranging them. Lunch is eaten at our local farm shop (and also involves coffee and cake afterwards!)
You can read more about the full retreat and what each day involves on the website here - from there you can click through to book the individual days if you prefer.
Other online demos in June
Friday 12th June The Sowing Biennials Demo
Biennial seed sown in summer will give you a great display of flowers through spring and early summer the following year. If you sow biennials in summer, you’ve stolen a march on the following spring. Georgie has lots of tips and tricks to make sure seed germinates in the heat of the summer, and seedlings flourish for planting out in late summer or autumn. Join this session and your garden next spring will be the envy of your neighbours.
Tuesday 23rd June The Rose Demo
Join Georgie as she shows you how to grow, harvest and arrange with your own garden roses in this online demo. Be inspired by Georgie as she takes you through the collection of roses she grows at Common Farm Flowers (see photo above for the 2026 collection), and tells you why she has chosen this mix, how she prunes them, feeds them, harvests and arranges with them. With a fun demo of a gorgeous cushion of roses in a classic rose bowl shape to finish, this is a transforming session for people who want to grow flowers for cutting and for garden floristry.
Wednesday 24th June The Seed Saving Demo
In this inspiring session, Georgie will show you how to save, clean and store seed so you can fill your garden for free, season after season. You’ll learn how to identify the perfect moment to collect seeds from your flowers, simple methods for drying, cleaning, and storing seeds so they stay viable, tips for labelling and organising your seed stash for when you’re ready to sow and the joy of seed saving as a way to make your garden more sustainable and abundant! Seed saving connects you more deeply with the rhythm of your garden and gives you the satisfaction of raising plants from your very own harvest. Whether you’re new to gardening or keen to expand your skills, this demo will set you up for a lifetime of free plants and flourishing borders.
Our Farm Tour
Places on our farm tour in June sold out some time ago. If you were wanting to come along and missed out we’ve added a new date to the calendar in August when the dahlias and other late summer favourites will be in full bloom. Do come along and see the farm and find out more about our ethos and how we work the land here in Somerset. It’s a beautiful time of year to visit.
