Join Georgie for an online demo this Autumn

Our new term of teaching starts 4 weeks today and whilst many of us are still deep in the throes of the school summer holidays, a never ending heatwave and drought (apologies to our friends in the southern hemisphere, who might wonder what we are on about!) we need to keep nudging about what’s coming up, because once the new term starts it’s going to be BUSY!

So this week let’s take a look at the 6 online demos which are happening in the autumn.

Information about all our online demos:

  • All online sessions take place on Zoom

  • All our online demos are around 90 minutes long, with plenty of time for your questions

  • All our online sessions are recorded, so you won’t miss out if you’re interrupted or can’t attend live

The Dahlia Hand Tie Demo

Dahlias can be difficult to use in floral arrangements so join Georgie for this demo and she will give you top tips for using dahlias for all sustainable floristry. This demo will help you take your dahlias from your garden, with a discussion on their particular demands when cutting and conditioning them and put these gorgeous blooms centre stage in your cut flower arrangements.

The Sweet Pea Demo

Join Georgie for this online demo and get ahead with your sweet peas sowing for your next crop! Georgie will chat through the varieties she’s planning to grow next season, the best way to prepare the ground, how many to sow, how often to sow, how many flowers per plant you can expect, how to achieve long stems, and how long can you expect the plants to go on flowering.

The Foliage For Floristry Demo

Join Georgie for this session in which she’ll talk about the place foliage demands in floristry, recommends good varieties to grow, discusses cutting and conditioning, and demonstrates with some lovely autumn foliage cut from her own fields that day. This session will give you the confidence to cut a wide selection from your garden, and inspire you to plant more to make a really useful collection which will give both your garden and your floristry real country house wow factor!

The Ranunculus and Anemone Demo

Ranunculus and anemones can be notoriously fiddly to grow. Yet a spring crop of happy anemone faces, and rich, luxurious ranunculus is an amazing way to start your cut flower patch season. Join Georgie on this demo and she will talk you through the important things to know, from ordering corms and claws, to sprouting, to compost, to protecting from mice and frost: from soil conditions, to warmth and light, to watering and feed. Georgie will take you through every step so that you too can have a wonderful display of these spring beauties for cutting.

The Christmas Garland and Wreathing Demo

This is one of the most versatile and rewarding natural Christmas decoration skills you can learn.
