Workshops at Common Farm Flowers

Workshops at Common Farm Flowers

Join Georgie at the farm in Somerset in 2026

We know that joining Georgie for a workshop in Somerset is a big commitment for many of you. You need to plan for time away from work, you need to book somewhere to stay, you might need to budget to join us (we offer an installment plan for 3 day workshops) and some of you need to plan travel too (yes, we’ve had students visit from America, New Zealand, Australia, as well as many places in Europe.)

We try to put the dates for these workshops into the calendar as far in advance as possible. And, as all our 2026 dates ‘at the farm’ are now on the website, this feels like a good time to share all the dates when you can join us in Somerset over the next 12 months.

All our sessions at the farm are limited to 10 students and we’ve already had bookings for 2026, so bear this in mind if you’re interested in coming along to any of these workshops.

If you’re a paid subscriber on Substack and you’re thinking of booking onto one of these sessions, don’t forget to use the latest discount code on the website for 10% off any bookings.

The Eco Floristry Retreat

Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th June 2026

We have so much fun at this retreat that we’ve had students return to do it more than once! Suitable for enthusiastic hobby flower arrangers, as well as florists wanting to take time out to learn more about sustainable floristry.

Join us for this 1, 2 or 3 day retreat where you’ll get to spend time out on the farm cutting flowers and foliage from our different patches, before returning to the studio to arrange them. Each day takes on a different theme and by the end of the 3 days we’ve enjoyed arranging bridal bouquets, buttonholes, table centre arrangements, big urns and floral arches!

I attended the 3 day Eco Floristry Retreat and this was the most positive of experiences. Georgie is an incredible teacher, mentor, and font of all knowledge. Georgie makes you feel relaxed and welcome as soon as you walk through the flower farm gates. We had the run of the garden to draw inspiration from which was an incredible experience. We created a brides bouquet, bridesmaids posy, and button hole on Day 1. Day 2 was dedicated to table displays. Day 3 focused on larger installations from a broken arch, to pedestal urns for the wow factor at any future celebration. You will leave full of contentment after the 3 days, with valuable new skills, and a warm feeling that you have had the best time at Common Farm. Thoroughly recommend.

The Lifestyle Business Retreat

Tuesday 17th, Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th March 2026

This is a brand new, very special 3 day retreat at the farm, coming in March 2026!

Join Georgie, branding, marketing and social media expert Frou McGarey, founder of Her Life First Business, and renowned personal development coach Alice Armstrong Scales, Armstrong Scales Coaching, on a transformative three day lifestyle business retreat at Common Farm.

The Introduction to Flower Farming Workshop

Tuesday 3rd March 2026

We’ve renamed our Career Change Flower Farming workshop, to better reflect what this workshop aims to do. However, be warned - it may well end up being career changing, indeed life changing, if you come along!

Suitable for anyone exploring the idea of turning their love of flower growing into a business, or in the early days of earning an income from flower farming. Find out more on everything we cover on this day here.

If you can’t join us in Somerset, this workshop is also available online (next date, 4th November 2025.)

"I attended the Career Change Flower Farming course and found it incredibly helpful and inspiring. Georgie not only knows the flower farming business inside out but gives tailored, thoughtful advice for each business idea around the table. Her energy is infectious. I left feeling really focussed and with a new confidence that I could make my new business work. Highly recommended."

The Flower Farming Intensive Workshop

Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th, Thursday 9th October 2025

Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th, Thursday 8th October 2026

This 3 day intensive workshop is designed to give students time away from their business to take an in-depth look at all aspects of flower farming, with the ultimate aim of helping you to grow your business in a way that is both meaningful and achievable for your personal circumstances.

Over the 3 days we look at land management, growing practices for a flower and foliage crop you can rely on, business planning, marketing, cutting and conditioning your crop, and floristry.

“Great three days spent with the inspiring Georgie…who was generous with her time, experience, knowledge and flowers. A bonus which I hadn't realised would be of such value was meeting other attendees to keep in touch with and share the experience. Georgie did a fantastic job of ensuring that the course was tailored to meet all our needs at a pace that allowed lots of questions as well as being practical and hands on. Lots of relevant information that is just not available anywhere else that builds confidence and helps your structure your business from every angle. Highly recommended.”
