Information about our workshops and demos

Online workshops and demos

Our online workshops and demos are designed to be flexible, friendly and accessible wherever you are in the world:

Format & duration

  • All online sessions take place on Zoom
  • Online workshops and demos start at 5pm (UK time)
  • Online workshops last about 2 hours and our online demos last around 1.5 hours
  • The exception to the above is our online Introduction to Flower Farming workshop, which starts at 10am and ends around 5pm (3 x 2 hour sessions, with breaks inbetween)

Group size

Online workshops are usually limited to 20 students, to ensure a more personal experience and the opportunity for participants to ask questions.

Workshop and demo recordings

All our online sessions are recorded, so you won’t miss out if you’re interrupted or can’t attend live

If you can’t attend live and would like to receive the recording, book your place as normal and we’ll send you the recording (and notes for workshops) within seven days of the session taking place (but usually much sooner than this.)

Workshops at the farm

Our workshops at the farm are inspiring, hands-on and provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and new skills in a beautiful setting.

Format and duration

  • Workshops at the farm generally start at 10m and run until about 4pm
  • The cost of a full day workshop includes lunch at a local farm shop. It’s important that you please advise us of any food allergies / intolerances / other preferences at the time of booking.
  • Please bring any mid morning or mid afternoon snacks you might like.
  • We will provide water, tea and coffee throughout the day.
  • Workshops at the farm take place in our studio barn, as well as out on the farm where there is no cover.
  • Please wear clothes suitable for the weather (eg layers, waterproof clothes) and bring shoes / boots that are designed to walk on rough, grassy paths. Even on a sunny day flips flops and sandals aren’t advised and we suggest long trousers where possible due to the risk of ticks, bites and stings. A sun hat and sun protection are also advised, as we can’t always stand in the shade.

Group size

Workshops at the farm are usually limited to 10 students.

The local area

Nearby Bruton and Wincanton, as well as some of the local villages, are full of lovely places to stay to suit every budget. There are also several options for eating out in the evening. See our links page for good ideas or get in touch and we will do our best to help.

A workshop at Common Farm Flowers can be made into a learning holiday, where you will leave feeling inspired and enabled, as well as having had a wonderful time in this beautiful corner of Somerset.
