Hello! Welcome to Common Farm Flowers. Time for a refreshed introduction don’t you think?
My name is Georgie Newbery, and I grow cut flowers on a seven-acre farm in Somerset and have been teaching people to grow and arrange them sustainably since 2010. I’m a RHS Floristry Judge, RHS gold medal winner, a member of the RHS trials forum, and I’m External Chair of of the trade organisation Flowers from the Farm. Here on Substack I share everything I think might be useful: from the bleeding obvious to the inspirational. This is where you can read, listen, watch clips, and join the chat.

Start with the a paid subscription (the club), whether you’re starting a cut flower patch in your garden or thinking about growing flowers for a living. I’ve has been growing commercially since 2010 and the live Club sessions are a great place to start. Then you might move on to flower farming workshops, demos and retreats.

What is Common Farm Flowers?
Common Farm Flowers is a working flower farm in Somerset, founded in 2010 by me, Georgie Newbery. Here I grow seasonal flowers, and run workshops, online demos, and run my consultancy for people who want advice specific to their own circumstances re growing, arranging, or building a business around flowers.
Who is Georgie Newbery?
I am a flower farmer, florist, author, and teacher based in Somerset. I am a RHS Floristry Judge, an RHS gold medal winner, and External Chair of Flowers from the Farm. I’ve been growing and teaching since 2010 and, though I say it myself, I’m widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in sustainable flower farming.
Can I join the Club if I’m not in the UK?
Yes. The Substack, and the Club are all open to anyone, anywhere in the world. Many of the Common Farm Flowers Club community are based outside the UK.
