Workshops at the farm in 2026
Our first workshop of the year at the farm is just over two weeks away - a date in the calendar that indicates the long, grey winter is almost at an end and the season is well and truly about to begin!
We have several sessions at the farm this year. Each takes place just once, so the dates you see here are the only times we will run them in 2026. Some are already over 50% booked.
Days at the farm (with the exception of the farm tour) start with coffee on arrival as we all say hello to each other, before we start properly at 10am. After our morning schedule, we have lunch at our local farm shop before returning for an afternoon session, which usually ends around 4pm. For those making the journey in a day, we are a couple of minutes off the A303 but for those who need to stay there is plenty of accommodation locally, some listed on our website but there are also AirBnBs locally too. We have had visitors to the farm from around the world and we see lifelong friendships and collaborations forming on all our workshops here! They can be literally life changing for people.
So, what have we got coming up? Here’s the full list of opportunities to come and spend time learning with Georgie at Common Farm Flowers in 2026.
The Introduction to Flower Farming Workshop
Tuesday 3rd March
As well as running this workshop online for those who can’t make it to Somerset, we continue to offer it at the farm. Join Georgie for the day and look at what it takes to become a person who grows flowers for sale. We’ll consider what type of flower farmer you might want to be, we’ll take a tour of the farm to see how Georgie and Fabrizio grow, harvest and market their crop and we will think about how we are going to price our stems, as well as market them.
“I attended the workshop at the farm and found it incredibly helpful and inspiring. Georgie not only knows the flower farming business inside out but gives tailored, thoughtful advice for each business idea around the table. Her energy is infectious. I left feeling really focussed and with a new confidence that I could make my new business work. Highly recommended.”
The Lifestyle Business Retreat
Tuesday 17th, Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th March
This is a new retreat for 2026, for small business founders (and those who’d like to be) who want to step away from the daily whirlwind, take stock, and return with clarity, direction, and energy. Over three days we’ll explore:
-
Focus: get clear on your objectives and define what ‘enough’ looks like for you.
-
Brand: shape a business identity and voice that feels natural and true.
-
Renew: build the habits and mindset to keep your progress steady and sustainable.
Our aim for this retreat is to help you step away from being ‘always busy’ and move toward calm productivity, support you to reframe how you run your small business, not for growth at any cost, but for balance and meaning and help you start or further develop a lifestyle business with clarity, confidence, and practical tools.
Tuesday 16th, Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th June
Book 1, 2 or all 3 days of this retreat
We love our Eco Floristry Retreat and so do our students who join us! We arrange the days so you can join us for Day One: hand tied bouquets and bridal party flowers, Day Two: table centre flowers, Day Three: floral installations or come along for all three days and have the most glorious time, whether you’re an enthusiastic amateur florist or a pro who wants to refine their sustainable floristry skills.
Join Georgie and enjoy three acres of flowers from which to cut, whilst learning all about harvesting flowers, conditioning them, and then creating your arrangements. This is a fantastic retreat in which to nurture your creativity, whilst learning how your passion for flowers needn’t cost the earth.
“I attended the 3 day Eco Floristry Retreat and this was the most positive of experiences. Georgie is an incredible teacher, mentor, and font of all knowledge. Georgie makes you feel relaxed and welcome as soon as you walk through the flower farm gates. We had the run of the garden to draw inspiration from which was an incredible experience. You will leave full of contentment after the 3 days, with valuable new skills, and a warm feeling that you have had the best time at Common Farm. Thoroughly recommend.”
Friday 19th June
Join Georgie and Fabrizio for a tour of the farm, and see how the balance growing cut flowers and foliage alongside creating a wildlife haven for a wide variety of invertebrates. You will also see the wildflower meadows in full flower, which is a sight to behold. The tour takes two hours and includes plenty of time for questions. There are just FIVE spaces left on the tour this year.
“A thoroughly enjoyable and interesting tour of the flower farm. Georgie and Fabrizio are both so welcoming and knowledgeable. What they have achieved with Common Farm is extremely admirable. It was so lovely to see a flower farm with no regimented lines or acres of black membrane, just naturalistic, well thought out growing spaces with biodiversity at the core. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.”
Tuesday 6th, Wednesday 7th, Thursday 8th October The Flower Farming Intensive Workshop
This 3 day workshop aims to help you grow your flower farming business. Over the course of the 3 days we will take in depth looks at land management and growing practice for a flower and foliage crop you can rely on, business planning and marketing, cutting and conditioning your crop, and floristry. It might be that you are not a flower farmer florist, but we include the floristry element to help you understand how our customers will use our product, so that we can develop a relationship with them that means they order from us time and again.
This 3 days will suit people who’ve some experience of growing flowers for sale, but who want to refine their processes, strategise to optimise their time and their crop growing, make more of their land, and make sure they are taking advantage of many different possibilities for earning which flower farming offers.
“Just completed the Flower Farming Intensive Workshop. Georgie’s wealth of knowledge and experience made the workshop invaluable. I am beginning my flower farming journey, but my fellow ‘learners’ have developed businesses and Georgie encompassed our, very diverse, knowledge with consummate aplomb. I left feeling empowered with much food for thought... onwards and upwards!”
Workshop and demo recordings
The following are all available to order as recordings until 22nd February:
The Introduction To Flower Farming Workshop
“This course is so worth it! I've consumed pretty much everything there is on the internet about starting flower farming and still ended up taking pages and pages of notes on this course. Georgie was able to give each and every participant advice for their individual business plan/season of life/climate and country of origin. Her authentic personality was the cherry on top. Thank you ever so much from Germany!”
The Pricing Cut Flowers To Sell Workshop
“I took the The Pricing Cut Flowers To Sell Workshop. Georgie goes into details and helps you determine your cut flowers prices, giving you an efficient method for a successful season. The key is not just in the numbers but in giving value to your work: Georgie is an expert flower farmer and her advice is truly valuable!”
