After the success of our first retreat in March 2026, we've added another date to the diary for November.
The lifestyle business retreat is something Georgie Newbery has been dreaming up for a long time. It’s for small business founders (and those who’d like to be) who want to step away from the daily whirlwind, take stock, and return with clarity, direction, and energy.
Over three days at Common Farm Flowers in Somerset, we’ll explore:
- Focus: get clear on your objectives and define what 'enough' looks like for you.
- Renew: build the habits and mindset to keep your progress steady and sustainable.
- Marketing: build the identity and voice that markets your business, even when you're not.
Because running a business should be about more than just keeping up. It should support a full life, which as well as your business includes family, friends, learning and space for growth.
You’ll be guided by:
- Georgie Newbery, a flower farmer, author, and small business mentor.
- Francesca McGarey, a marketing strategist specialising in sustainable systems for small businesses.
-
Alice Armstrong-Scales, a personal development coach with 25 years’ experience.
Here's an outline of the 3 days:
Day One: Focus, led by Georgie Newbery
We’ll start with your why, revisiting your objectives and refreshing your vision. You’ll map a path forward, define your 'enough' and look at practical tools like business plans and cashflow forecasts that keep you focused without burning out.
We’ll close the day with a creative exercise: making and photographing still lifes that capture your insights and become a visual reminder to take with you.
Day Two: Renew, led by Alice Armstrong-Scales
On Day Two, we’ll look at how to sustain all the work we want to put into our business, and into ourselves. Alice will guide you through practical tools and daily habits that keep you on track, help you prioritise what really matters, and cultivate calm and confidence as you go.
With her wealth of personal development experience, Alice will show you how to create a rhythm that supports inspiration, productivity, and balance, for you to apply every day, long after the retreat.
Day Three: Marketing, led by Francesca McGarey
Whatever stage your business is at, Day Three is where thinking becomes doing. We'll zoom out to look at the world of your business; where you're headed, what you're really trying to build, and what your marketing efforts actually need to do for you.
In the afternoon, we'll get practical: mapping out a sustainable marketing system that fits your life, and exploring honestly whether AI belongs in your toolkit, and if so, how to use it on your own terms.
You'll leave with a clear view of your marketing approach, a system that doesn't demand everything of you, and the confidence to keep it going, long after the retreat is over.

"Thank you for enabling these nourishing, motivating and inspiring three days, as always filled with such impressive, open and kind women...all looking to lead better lives...the positive tailwinds created by the fluttering butterfly wings of the past few days, quite a thing you have done Georgie!"
"I attended the 3 day Lifestyle Business Retreat at Common Farm Flowers last week. I cannot recommend this highly enough. Informative, exceptional presentations by Georgie and her team covering a whole range of subjects and providing essential tools to take your business forward in an informal 'safe' environment allowing energetic and enthusiastic business discussions and sharing of ideas with one of the most inspirational and amazing group of people I have spent time with for some time. An essential to anyone wanting support, advice and sensible easy to practice tools going forward."
