Introduction to Flower Farming: How to Turn Your Love of Flowers into a Business with Georgie Newbery of Common Farm Flowers

If you've ever dreamed of making a living growing cut flowers for sale, this full-day online workshop with flower farmer and florist Georgie Newbery is the place to start turning that dream into a realistic, workable plan.

Georgie has been growing flowers for sale in Somerset since 2010, starting with a patch the size of an allotment and sweet peas sold from a barrow outside her house. Since then, she has grown and sent thousands of bouquets by post, created flowers for hundreds of weddings and events, and taught over ten thousand students through her workshops each year.

In this workshop she shares everything she has learned about growing flowers strategically and profitably: which flowers to grow, how to plan a full season of stock, how to manage your cashflow (the most important foundation of any flower farming business), and how to build a marketing strategy that works. She is honest about the financial realities, practical about the time involved, and genuinely inspiring about what is possible when you grow something you love with real intention.

What you'll learn:

Module one: Growing flowers for sale and profit (10:00am to midday)

  • What kind of flower farmer could you be
  • Which flowers to grow for a reliable, profitable crop
  • How to plan for a full season of flowers and enough stock for all your sales
  • How to be realistic about what you can earn and how to make it work financially

Module two: Design your flower farm for productivity and cash flow (12:30pm to 2:30pm)

  • How to design and maintain a productive growing space, whatever its size
  • How to plan your year so that growing, harvesting, and selling all fit together
  • How to manage cashflow as the backbone of your flower farming business

Module three: Social media and marketing for flower growers (3pm to 5pm)

  • How to build a marketing strategy that brings in the sales you want
  • How to use social media effectively without it taking over your life
  • How to grow your business with purpose and enjoy the process

This workshop will not just inspire you, it will give you the tools and the clarity to act.
