April dates for your diary

We are having a brief pause for the school holidays here in Somerset but online demos and club live chats will be back in a couple of weeks and here’s what’s in the diary:

Monday 20th April The Sustainable Hand Tie Demo online

Georgie is very generous with her knowledge and her love of flowers just oozes to those of us who are lucky enough to join her demo. Well worth joining in to see and hear the particular details of handtie posie making, and being able to re watch the video after to try and pick up the skills shown through practice is super helpful.

Thursday 23rd April Club live chat (for paid Substack subscribers)

Monday 27th April The Prepping Wedding Flowers Demo online

A really useful and informative demo from Georgie. Practical, sensible and inspiring advice to help make wedding flower preparations a complete success. Thank you!

Tuesday 28th April The Bridal Party Flowers Demo online

Great value for money. So much practical advice from Georgie. She has so much experience and a willingness to share with anyone who wants to learn. Feel armed and confident to make my next wedding creations. Thoroughly recommend Georgie’s demos!

Wednesday 29th April The Cutting and Conditioning Your Flowers Demo online

Thursday 30th April Club live chat (for paid Substack subscribers)

Last chance to buy

We’ve extended the deadline to order the recording of the Spring Propagating demo because we (well, Nic) hadn’t banked on the Easter weekend being in the way and we (Nic, again) didn’t remind you about it. So if you’d like to order the recording, simply click here and order as if you were booking on the workshop and I will send you the recording as soon as I get chance.

Attended a second online workshop with Georgie Newbery of Common Farm Flowers- this one all about Spring Propagating Plants. An amazing gardening chat filled with great tips and real world advice for expanding your garden with plants that you already have! Brilliant way to spend time - put on a cuppa and LEARN something new for the garden. Thank you Georgie!

New dates added to the website

Some of our dates in the diary have sold out, been and gone but been popular enough for us to offer again or are brand new! So here are a handful of dates you might have missed that we’ve added to the schedule:

Tuesday 25th August The Flower Farm Tour at the farm

Our June date for the farm tour sold out a few weeks ago and so we’ve found a gap in the diary when we hope to accomodate those of you who missed out on booking the earlier date. August is a beautiful time at the farm. The beds will be flourishing - hopefully with dahlias, zinnias and lots of other late summer flowers.

Wonderful tour of the wildflower meadows and the flower farm. The owners are very knowledgeable and were extremely generous with their time. It was a delight to see the farm in person having followed it on YouTube and Instagram for a while. Highly recommended.

Wednesday 4th November The Ranunculus and Anemone Demo online

Are you already thinking you might need a bit more advice about growing ranunculus? I’ve never grown them myself and should probably try! Georgie’s demo would be a brilliant place to start if you’re struggling, or like me have absolutely no idea but want to give it a go. Yes, it’s not until November but no time like feeling as if you’re missing out on all the ranunculus action that is almost about to start to make us feel like we should get organised for next season?

I’ve just done the Ranunculus & Anemone workshop with Georgie. I have explanations for the things that went wrong last year and lovely clear answers for things to do in a different way next year!

Tuesday 17th, Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th November The Lifestyle Business Retreat at the farm

We are still talking about what a brilliant time we had at the inaugral Lifestyle Business Retreat, which we held in March. It was everything and more that we hoped it would be and so, as a few of you asked, we’ve found another date to host this again in 2026. We are going to limit the places to just 8 students so do book soon if you’re interested in coming along. And if you’d like to pay in instalments just email me nicola@commonfarmflowers.com and I can arrange this for you.

This retreat is a refocus on growing you; resetting your intention, ambitions and making a clear confident path ahead. You will work with like minded strangers who will become your friends and champions - you will leave empowered. The retreat is led by strong, confident, knowledgeable women who have your back and will gently but firmly help you shift where you are stuck. You don’t get off the hook - I have a feeling they’ll be holding us accountable in 6 months to see where we are - that’s exceptional.
